Pocket Style Manual is a quick reference for writers and researchers. As a writer, you can turn to it for advice on revising sentences for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics. As a researcher, you can refer to its documentation models and to its guidelines on citing and integrating sources. Three commonly used documentation styles are included: MLA, APA, and footnotes or endnotes. To find information, either consult the brief table of contents inside the front cover or turn to the index at the back of the book. For many topics, the brief table of contents will send you very close to the information you're looking for (because most sections in the book are quite short). Once you have turned to a particular section, you'll find that the book’s many headings help you scan for the exact advice you need.
